Hospital Opportunity - General Practitioner | GP VMO ED

Renumeration: $2,500 per day + travel & accommodation
Notes: 40 hours per week

Your Responsibilities

  • Expectation that you review all cases in-person throughout the day.

  • Hours required to be on-site will be 8am ward rounds, followed by ED reviews etc - finish time to be negotiated with site.

  • Must return to the ED when requested by nursing staff at any time.

  • Complete discharge summaries and review admitted patients as requested.

  • Complete contemporaneous and comprehensive clinical documentation in all systems including discharges in eMR/eMeds.

  • Check pathology and radiology results in the ED results message centre ordered by any doctor, follow-up and document management plans for any results needed further action and review any patients returning for follow-up of results.

  • Participate in morbidity and mortality meetings, MDT meetings and other clinical meetings as requested.

  • Required to participate in Multidisciplinary Team Meeting on Monday morning at the Hospital.

  • On Call Requirements

  • You will be the sole Doctor on call 24/7.

  • You as the Locum Doctor will be called in for all triage categorie (1s to 5s) in-person between 0700 hrs and 2200 hrs.

  • Overnight from 2200 hrs until 0700 hrs the locum doctor will be required to review all Category 1, 2 and 3 ED Presentations in-person.

  • Overnight from 2200 hrs until 0700 hrs VRGS will cover Category 4 and 5 ED Presentations, however you will be required to attend if a clinician or the Registered Nurse calls you requesting your presence.

  • On-call the Locum Doctor will also be required at all times to attend inpatients that are deteriorating.

  • vCare are available in emergency situations to assist with support and escalation of a Patient within the facility that requires Emergency assistance, transfer to tertiary facility, advice from specialist teams, emergency birth assistance, Paediatric specialist care, Trauma and Burn specialist support.
